Brief

Rosary Home have been a client for over 20 years. The nuns were looking forward to having a new home that joined the existing nursing home. Access to the residents was an important aspect as was the ability of the nuns to have private areas to retreat to. Courtyards and gardens are a key aspect to the whole site and were important to be incorporated into the planning.

The Planning Stage
The home was designed in cooperation with the architectural and interior departments from the outset.

It was important that the planning paid particular attention to private and public spaces, external garden spaces and their interconnection.

Particular attention was paid to the private chapel and the modern use of stained glass.
