Design Briefs

Interior Design
Universal Pizza is an Italian Restaurant located on Lygon Street, Carlton. The restaurant was established in the 70ties and has a solid and traditional history of serving delicious Italian food. The clients brief was to design a sophisticated dining experience without alienating existing clientelle. It was also important that the space could be divided into a variety of areas/experiences allowing for semi private functions.

Graphic Design
The client wanted to create a stand-alone icon with the initals 'U' + 'P' in the logo type. The new logo had to be modern and contemporary reflecting the young spirit of the new management.

Existing Conditions

The restaurant offers a ground floor, upstairs dining, off street dining and a balcony. All the building works were staged to allow for the smooth operation of the restaurant. The upstairs dining area offers a bar and sitting for approx. 100 people plus a balcony opening up to Lygon Street.
